Spicy Balsamic

We received this question this morning and figured many of you may have had or will have this question.

A customer received bottles of our Spicy mole dark balsamic, and the neck of the bottle was full of a solid substance. This has an easy explanation: Chili Powder.

Our spicy mango, spicy mole, and spicy orange are all made with chili powder. We use an immersion blender to mix the chili into the balsamic. A freshly made bottle may have a large chunk of chili powder that has clumped together. You can easily shake the bottle, and this should break up and distribute back out into the balsamic. Now if the chili powder has settled to the bottom of the bottle you will have to stick a skewer or chop stick in to break the powder back up and then give it a good shake.

This will also happen with our white sesame ginger, as the sesame seeds can clump into the neck of the bottle and look like a solid piece. Again, shake very well and use a skewer to mix the seeds up if needed.

With all these products once the fill level goes below the neck of the bottle the powder or seeds will be able to disperse and are a lot less likely to clump.

Now, this should not be occurring with any of the white balsamic with habanero spice as the habanero is a much finer powder and blended with the immersion blender it should be distributed throughout the white balsamic.
