November Markets-

This month I did not make it to all the markets I had planned for.

My first market of the month was canceled due to a veteran’s day parade in the same location.

The next market I did was a bust. 🙁

This market was in downtown chandler which I believed would be a better location due to Maricopa’s population is 56,325 and chandler’s is 278,245.

Although the much larger population this market unfortunately was not worth the hassle.

These markets requirements were:

TPT license

F.L.I.P Insurance

$75.00 vendor spot fee +10% of sales.

So, in total to even go to this market I had to spend:

$2.00 to add to TPT

$47.50 for F.L.I.P insurance

And the $75.00 vendor fee

It was $124.50 to even show up to the market.

This market I only did $430 in sales.

$43 was given to the market.

So, in total $167.50 was to the market. $430 in gross sales. Leaving $262.50 that was towards my business.

Luckily, I used NEXT insurance and was able to select the monthly option that you can cancel anytime. They refunded me $36.57 of the $47.50.

I learned from this experience to go to the markets that you can and preview before going through the vendor enrollment process.

My last event was a Relay for Life-Fall Market held in the city of Maricopa. This event was not very well promoted even though there was a lot of vendors and food trucks. At this event I did $473, with only a $30 vendor spot fee. A lot more money was able to go in my pocket and I made a ton of great contacts at this event.

I had already begun a conversation with the local bakery to add my product to their shelves and will be doing so after thanksgiving holiday.

I had another vendor approach me and offered me great advice and a business opportunity. She makes her own spice blends and seasonings, locally in Maricopa. She wants to start offering my product along with her blends as well as making a hot sauce with one of my products.

She is a more seasoned vendor and has vendor spots at markets across AZ and Colorado and said she would love for me to tag along to events with her.

I think the connections I made at the Relay for Life event was well worth it even though it wasn’t the most profitable market.

I had a couple other events that were either canceled or I wasn’t able to attend, but I intend to catch up in December and hit as many markets and events as possible.
